The Mountain View Lobos''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 35-27 to Pecos. Mountain View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pecos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Mountain View's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Matthew Slosar, who threw for 356 yards and four touchdowns while completing 93.9% of his passes. Erick Dominguez was another key contributor, picking up 107 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pecos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Johnny Morales, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Morales is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Omar Salgado jr, who threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Pecos, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pecos will head out on the road to face off against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seminole will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
