Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Christian Academy Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Jacksonville Christian Academy extended their home winning streak to five games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Nylah Moore. The Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Faith Christian Academy Conquerors 66-29 thanks in part to Moore, who went 11 for 22 on her way to 30 points and four steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Jacksonville Christian Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Goodson, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points in addition to six boards and five steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January.

Despite the loss, Faith Christian Academy had strong showings from Bella Finney, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 13 points, and Rebecca Rouse, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. Rouse has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Jacksonville Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Faith Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jacksonville Christian Academy will take on Bethel Assembly Christian Academy in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Faith Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
