Hamilton is 0-3 against Desert Christian Academy since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Bobcats will challenge the Conquerors at 7:00 p.m.
On Thursday, Hamilton came up short against San Jacinto Valley Academy and fell 27-14.
Although Hamilton took the loss, they still got scores from Kaleb Lafourche and Anthony Chavez.
Even if they lost, Hamilton's defense still kept up the pressure with seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Felix Jimenez and Timothy Wisda, who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Desert Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Desert Chapel 56-22. The result was nothing new for the Conquerors, who have now won six contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Hamilton better keep an eye on Mario Gallo. He was instrumental in Desert Christian Academy's win, throwing for 190 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 49 yards and one touchdown. Their leading receiver Eusebio Gallo was Mario's top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Desert Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Desert Christian Academy, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Cashton Scott, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Desert Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Hamilton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 193.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Desert Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 182.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Hamilton couldn't quite get it done against Desert Christian Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 40-31. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Scott, who rushed for 156 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Now that the Bobcats know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
