Hughesville hasn't had much luck against Loyalsock Township recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Spartans will take on the Lancers at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Hughesville and Warrior Run, and Hughesville kept the tradition alive. The Spartans blew past the Defenders 8-2 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Meanwhile, Loyalsock Township was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Bloomsburg with a sharp 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won four games by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Hughesville pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Loyalsock Township, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
Hughesville couldn't quite get it done against Loyalsock Township when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
