The Shaw Raiders waltzed into Tuesday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northside and snuck past 57-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Shaw was led to victory by Brooke Shipp and Tiara Tucker. Shipp scored 14 points along with five steals, while Tucker dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Tucker's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tanajah Jones, who scored five points.
Shaw's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Northside, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaw will square off against Russell County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northside, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
