Marion had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Carbondale Terriers on Wednesday. Considering the Wildcats have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Marion has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Carbondale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season.
