Escalon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Babasa, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Hailey Starr made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off ten hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Salece Machado was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lexi Alves, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
