Basketball Game Preview: Silas Rams vs. Central Kitsap Cougars

Silas is 5-0 against Central Kitsap since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Silas Rams will head out to take on the Central Kitsap Cougars at 7:15 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Silas was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-37 to Gig Harbor.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Annique Smith, who posted 13 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Carmayla Jackson, who had seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central Kitsap, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past Mount Tahoma, posting a 55-14 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season.

Central Kitsap pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Silas, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3.

Silas beat Central Kitsap 59-48 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Does Silas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Kitsap turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
