After flying high against the First Academy Lions last Friday, the Community Christian Academy Eagles came back down to earth. Community Christian Academy lost to St. Teresa's Catholic on the road by a decisive 49-35 margin on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Community Christian Academy in their matchups with St. Teresa's Catholic: they've now lost four in a row.
Community Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Beau Moore, who scored 14 points, and Kylin McDonald who scored 13 points. That was a full 37.1% of Community Christian Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
St. Teresa's Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sermario MJ Wiggins, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dyland Rangel, who scored 13 points.
Community Christian Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.5 points per game. As for St. Teresa's Catholic, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Community Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge CHESS Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Teresa's Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
