Sutter is a perfect 10-0 against Wheatland since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Huskies will take on the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. Sutter will be strutting in after a victory while Wheatland will be coming in after a loss.
In Wednesday's Canine Competition, Sutter came out on top. Everything went their way against Woodland on Wednesday as they made off with a 10-1 win. With that victory, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Izabella Pacheco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Liliana Speakman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paytyn Schamanski, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sutter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodland only managed nine hits.
Meanwhile, after a string of 12 wins, Wheatland's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against Durham, falling 16-2. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Pirates couldn't push the score so high this time.
Tatum Sousa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
The win made it two in a row for Sutter and bumps their season record up to 11-15. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Wheatland, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sutter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Wheatland struggles in that department as they've averaged .426. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sutter beat Wheatland 5-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
