The Brackenridge Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Edison Golden Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Brackenridge's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Edison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Brackenridge took on Highlands on Tuesday. The Eagles never let the Owls get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory.

Jordan Monroy and Andres Gallegos made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Monroy tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gallegos didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Monroy also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brackenridge is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. At the plate, Monroy went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles, while Gallegos went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Monroy a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Polendo, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Brackenridge is undefeated when Polendo posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Mateo Reyna was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Edison didn't have quite enough to beat Jefferson on Tuesday and fell 6-5.
Julius Ramirez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddi Nunez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Brackenridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brackenridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Edison struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brackenridge couldn't quite finish off Edison when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
