Heritage's loss came about despite a quality game from Jace Winkler, who scored eight points. Winkler also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Atticus Schroeder, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Westminster, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bear Creek on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Westminster can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Bear Creek is ranked 130th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Michael Davidson, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for he. Elias Garcia was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Westminster, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Heritage have been dynamite from deep this season, having only drained 36.8% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Westminster, though, as they've only drained 33% of their threes per game this season.
