The La Jolla Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Clairemont by a score of 85-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Michael Contreras was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lance Braga, who scored 16 points.
La Jolla's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Clairemont, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Jolla on the road again on Friday and play against Point Loma at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Clairemont, they will take on San Ysidro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. San Ysidro is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
