The Community Christian Warriors won the last time they faced the Joshua Christian Knights, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Community Christian walked away with a 62-49 win over Joshua Christian.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Buchanan, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Buchanan has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Gil, who scored 19 points along with six assists and five steals.
Despite the loss, Joshua Christian saw an underclassman step up: Addyson Archer scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Macey Kiser, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Community Christian's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13. As for Joshua Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
Community Christian will take on Garland Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Community Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday. Joshua Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
