The Lincoln Lynx waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 46-34 win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton. Given Lincoln's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Sergeant Bluff-Luton is ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Creighton Bracker was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Cole Arnold was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Sergeant Bluff-Luton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Lincoln will head out on the road to face off against Sioux City East at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Sioux City East knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 games -- so hopefully Lincoln likes a good challenge. Sergeant Bluff-Luton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hinton on January 20th.
