The West Islip Lions had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Centereach, posting a 35-0 win at home. Considering West Islip has won four matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The win was the third in a row for West Islip, bringing their record for this year to 8-1. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Centereach, they, and Newfield. As for Centereach, their loss was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 3-6.
West Islip will face off against Half Hollow Hills East at TBD on Friday. Half Hollow Hills East will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. Centereach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
