While Serrano's victory against Hesperia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Diamondbacks made off with a 36-35 win over the Scorpions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Diamondbacks.

Cade Lafever threw for 123 yards on only 11 passes. Nathan Contreras was his top target, picking up 105 receiving yards. On the ground, Anthony Rucker rushed for 81 yards and one TD.

Hesperia lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zamar Malveaux, who rushed for 113 yards and a pair of scores. Daniel Serna was in the mix too, providing Hesperia with two touchdowns.

Serrano's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Hesperia, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Serrano will venture away from home to challenge Apple Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hesperia, they will head out to take on Sultana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Scorpions will be up against the Sultans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
