Miller struggled with threes on Tuesday (the Bishops had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Miller fell 77-69 to the Bishops. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Miller in their matchups with the Bishops: they've now lost eight in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Logan Doughty, who scored 23 points along with three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Perry, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Grove City Christian entered their tilt with the Lakers with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Grove City Christian simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Lakers 62-27 on the road. Grove City Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 25 points or more this season.
Grove City Christian relied on the efforts of Caleb Ransom, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds, and Seth Vaughn, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Vaughn has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last nine times he's played. Jadunn Harris was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Miller has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Grove City Christian, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Miller have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Grove City Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
