The Reedy Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 54-46 to Lone Star. While losing is never fun, Reedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 468th, while Lone Star is ranked 46th).
Reedy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rylen Mitro, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Langford, who scored 15 points.
Reedy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Lone Star, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-3.
Reedy will be playing in front of their home fans against Turner at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Turner is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Lone Star, they will head out on the road to face off against Newman Smith at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Newman Smith has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 503 points over their last seven games.
