It was a good run, but Derry unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 63-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burrell Bucs. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bucs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Derry's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Burrell, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Derry will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Mifflin at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Burrell and Neshannock will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neshannock will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Burrell surely won't give up without a fight.
