Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Santaluces had to settle for a 45-43 defeat against the Lancers on Friday. Santaluces has not had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Santaluces had strong showings from Trent Nixon, who scored seven points, and Brad Watkins, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watkins has scored all season.
Palm Beach Central's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Santaluces, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Palm Beach Central beat the Chiefs 71-59 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Santaluces' Decarious Jenkins, who scored 35 points along with eight rebounds.
