Orofino is 9-1 against Grangeville since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Maniacs will head out to square off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Orofino will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
If Orofino beats Grangeville with 12 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Maniacs walked away with a 12-7 win over Marsing on Saturday.

Nicholas Bonner was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Olive, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Grangeville never let their opponents score on Saturday. They didn't even let Priest River on the board, marking the Bulldogs' second-straight 19-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.
Trayven Sickels made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Grangeville got a massive performance out of JT Jackson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jackson is becoming a predictor of the Bulldogs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Thayn Williams was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Grangeville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .414 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Orofino pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.7 runs. As for Grangeville, their record is now 12-6.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Orofino has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. However, it's not like Grangeville struggles in that department as they've averaged .493. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Orofino's way against Grangeville in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as Orofino made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maniacs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
