Basketball Recap: Colfax Extends Winning Streak to Three

Colfax had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 68-64 W against the Oakmont Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Vikings back in January, they had to take a 54-46 defeat.

Despite the loss, Oakmont had strong showings from Aldin Bubic, who posted 18 points and seven rebounds, and Jayden Washington, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. Washington has become a key player for Oakmont: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least ten boards, but 6-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Daiveon Parker, who scored ten points.

Colfax's victory bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Oakmont, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Colfax wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-51 win against Bear River on the 14th. As for Oakmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-49 victory against Mira Loma on the 14th.
