The Dysart Demons will be playing at home against the Odyssey Institute Minotaur at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Dysart had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 53 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Page, posting a 62-16 win at home. The result was nothing new for Dysart, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Avion Bailey and Kye Brown were among the main playmakers for Dysart as the former picked up 159 receiving yards and four touchdowns and the latter rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Noah Ramirez made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Odyssey Institute strolled past River Valley with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14.
Dysart's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Kofa and 2-6 San Tan Foothills (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.4% over those games). Odyssey Institute has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday' contest: Dysart has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 391.9 total yards per game. It's a different story for Odyssey Institute, though, as they've been averaging only 199 per game. Will Dysart be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will Odyssey Institute flip the ?
Dysart came up short against Odyssey Institute when the teams last played back in September of 2022, falling 25-14. Can Dysart avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
