Baseball Game Preview: Eastern York Golden Knights vs. Red Lion Lions

The Eastern York Golden Knights will square off against the Red Lion Lions at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Eastern York is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Eastern York lost 14-8 to Susquehannock on Wednesday. The Golden Knights have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Parker Strayer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Howard, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Red Lion won against Spring Grove on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Red Lion didn't even let William Penn on the board, marking Red Lion's second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Red Lion got a massive performance out of Connor Lawrence, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Martin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Red Lion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as William Penn only posted an OBP of .118.

Red Lion now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Eastern York, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Eastern York has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Red Lion struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.7 hits.
