3A Big South recap Oct. 30, 2012
South Point extended the longest winning streak in 3A Big South this week by beating Crest, 42-24. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Red Raiders.
Ashbrook and Huss played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Ashbrook eventually emerging with a 35-31 victory.
Kings Mountain's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mountaineers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jonathan Clark has thrown for 1573 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Xavier Johnson has 43 catches for 699 yards. Dashan Guest leads the league in rushing with 1040 yards.
A big matchup in 3A Big South this week will be when the Chargers take on the Green Wave. As it stands, Crest is in second, while Ashbrook is in fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when Mark Barnes' team and Greg Hill's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Chargers comes in having scored 403 this season, while the Green Wave have scored 285. Crest scored 24 points last week as it fell to South Point.
Forestview led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Kings Mountain.
