The Westbrook Christian Warriors will take on the Wellborn Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Westbrook Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
Westbrook Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Weaver, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Warriors blew past the Bearcats, posting a 63-20 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Brody Blevins, who threw for 200 yards and four TDs while completing 88.2% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Another player making a difference was Bo Kilgo, who picked up 70 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Westbrook Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Luke Thompson, JP Taylor, Justus Jones, and Carter Cothran picked up one apiece. Jones got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Wellborn entered their game against Piedmont on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers took a blow against the Bulldogs, falling 56-16. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 62nd).
Westbrook Christian pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.7 points over those games. As for Wellborn, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Everything went Westbrook Christian's way against Wellborn in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Westbrook Christian made off with a 47-24 victory. In that contest, the Warriors amassed a halftime lead of 33-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
