The Temecula Prep Patriots fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against California Military Institute by a score of 13-6 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Temecula Prep, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Temecula Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Vince Warren out in front who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. Warren was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Despite the defeat, California Military Institute saw an underclassman step up: Manuel Velasquez rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Velasquez hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Temecula Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for California Military Institute, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Temecula Prep will head out on the road to face off against Artesia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. California Military Institute does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
