The Deshler Dragons will be playing at home against the Kenesaw Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Deshler is ranked 211th, while Kenesaw is ranked 192nd).
Deshler scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Harvard 67-30 at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Deshler as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deshler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Sieber, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sieber has scored all season. Kaden Kleen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Kenesaw, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-39 loss to Elm Creek on Monday. Kenesaw has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Blake Steer, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Deshler's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Kenesaw, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Deshler have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Kenesaw struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
