The Ironwood Eagles stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 68-31 victory over Sunrise Mountain on the road. The win was familiar territory for Ironwood who now have 16 in a row.
Blake Carabio continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Noah Gifft, who scored 15 points.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jason Higgins, who scored six points along with ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Balian, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Ironwood pushed their record up to 21-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Sunrise Mountain, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ironwood will take on Kellis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kellis has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 30. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will play host again and welcome Centennial, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
