Wheaton has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Sherwood Warriors at TBD on Tuesday. Wheaton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Sherwood is ranked 45th).
Wheaton won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Bethesda-Chevy Chase, falling 70-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Wheaton has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, Sherwood was able to grind out a solid victory over Wootton on Thursday, taking the game 60-52.
Wheaton's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Sherwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Wheaton was taken down by Sherwood 58-17 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Wheaton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
