Snow Canyon is on a 18-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Dixie is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. On Wednesday, Snow Canyon was able to grind out a solid victory over Cedar, taking the game 58-49. Given Snow Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Cedar is ranked 83rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Owen Mackay, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Snow Canyon's points. Trey Kelsch was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, even though Pine View scored an imposing 56 points on Wednesday, Dixie still came out on top. Everything went Dixie's way against Pine View as Dixie made off with a 76-56 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dixie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyle Lemke, who scored 25 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 assists.
Snow Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Dixie, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.
