The Escambia County Blue Devils had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Flomaton by a score of 65-53 on Friday. The victory was just what Escambia County needed coming off of a 63-43 defeat in their prior match.
Leading Escambia County to victory were Cleo Bolar jr. and Stephen Williams. Bolar jr. scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Williams dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bolar jr. has scored at least 25% of Escambia County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jovaughnta Henderson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Escambia County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-5. As for Flomaton, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9.
Escambia County will challenge Satsuma at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Satsuma comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Flomaton, they will be playing at home against Mobile Christian at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Mobile Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Flomaton in Alabama (Mobile Christian is ranked 207th, while Flomaton is ranked 453rd).
