Avon Park has gone 9-1 against Frostproof recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Avon Park Red Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Frostproof Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Avon Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
On Friday, Avon Park took their matchup with ease, bagging a 78-40 win over Lake Placid. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Christopher Kelly and Tayvion Jones were among the main playmakers for Avon Park as the former dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards and the latter posted 17 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Kelly has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jatavis Fuse, who put up 11 points and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Frostproof). They really took it to Oasis Christian for the full four quarters, racking up an 82-52 victory. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 65-43 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had little chance of recovering from.
Frostproof's win came from a few key players Avon Park will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zavier Powell, who went 12 of 15 on his way to 24 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurice Blakely, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 20 points along with six assists and five boards.
Frostproof was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Avon Park's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for Frostproof, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Avon Park has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 47.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Frostproof struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Avon Park beat Frostproof 64-54 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Blakely, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 26 points and five rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Avon Park still be able to contain Blakely? There's only one way to find out.
