The Omaha Northwest Huskies suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 83-43 defeat at the hands of Lincoln Southeast. Omaha Northwest has not had much luck with Lincoln Southeast recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Omaha Northwest still got an impressive performance from Chiok John, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that John posted two or more blocks. Dontae McDowell was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Lincoln Southeast had a senior duo take command as Taye Moore scored 17 points along with two steals and Jake Hilkemann scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Deng Giet, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and two blocks.
Omaha Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lincoln Southeast, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Omaha Northwest will head out on the road to challenge Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buena Vista comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lincoln Southeast, they will be playing at home against Lincoln High at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln High will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Lincoln Southeast is ranked 53rd).
