The Dover Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Parsippany Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dover has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Dover scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Whippany Park 65-49. That looming 65-49 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Dover yet this season.
Meanwhile, Parsippany lost to Parsippany Hills at home by a decisive 68-50 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Parsippany can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Parsippany Hills is ranked 79th).
Parsippany's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of David Niedermaier, who scored eight points along with five rebounds, and Thomas Niedermaier who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Niedermaier has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Arthur Smith, who scored seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Dover's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Parsippany, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Dover came up short against Parsippany in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 53-48. Can Dover avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
