After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Summerfield Waldorf, the Pacific Union College Prep Falcons were happy to have found some success on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Rio Lindo Adventist 42-39. That's another feather in the cap for Pacific Union College Prep, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Rio Lindo Adventist had strong showings from Jhordany Barcenas, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds, and Hunter McNunn, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and two steals. McNunn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Jordan Campbell was another key contributor, scoring three points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Pacific Union College Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacific Union College Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Elsie Allen at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, they will take on North Bay Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Bay Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
