Baseball Recap: Jena Extends Winning Streak to Four

Jena waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 15-2 margin over the Ebarb Rebels. The Giants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Cayden Mursch was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Jena let Brayden Oakes and Carson Willis run wild. Oakes scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-1, while Willis went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That's the most stolen bases Oakes has posted over his last six contests. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Todd, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Jena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Jena pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs. As for Ebarb, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Jena wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 28-11 victory against Monterey on the 7th. As for Ebarb, they have also already played their next game, a 9-2 win against Saline on the 8th.
