Even though The Harnett Central Trojans have not done well against the Triton Hawks recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Harnett Central came out on top against Triton by a score of 10-3. For Harnett Central, this counts as revenge for the 48-0 defeat Triton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Harnett Central was led to victory by Delshaun Brown and Aiden Taylor. Brown picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Taylor threw for 181 yards and a touchdown. Harnett Central also got a significant boost from Ethyn Muhammad, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 102 yards.
Harnett Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Triton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
Harnett Central will take on West Carteret at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (West Carteret is ranked 192nd, while Harnett Central is ranked 201st). As for Triton, they will head out on the road to face off against Seventy-First at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seventy-First will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
