The Hazen Bison entered their tilt with the Lisbon Broncos with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Hazen rang in the new year with a 45-32 win over Lisbon on Saturday.
Despite the loss, Lisbon had strong showings from Kyra Haecherl, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, and Ryatt Wertman, who scored seven points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Hazen's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Lisbon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Hazen will head out on the road to face off against Bottineau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bottineau has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 537 points over their last eight matches. As for Lisbon, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Thompson at 7:00 p.m. Thompson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lisbon in North Dakota (Thompson is ranked second, while Lisbon is ranked 88th).
