Arvada West came tearing into Friday's matchup with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Ralston Valley Mustangs 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Cooper Vais was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Tate Deal was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Holden Goodrich was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Arvada West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Arvada West's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Ralston Valley, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
