The Taylor County Bulldogs were the 48-40 winner over the Madison County Cowboys when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Taylor County fell 66-54 to Madison County on Saturday. Taylor County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Madison County was led to victory by Micah Newman and Labron Lee. Newman scored 22 points along with four steals, while Lee scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Lee pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marcus Hawkins jr., who dropped a double-double on 11 rebounds and 11 assists.
Taylor County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Madison County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against FAMU DRS at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Madison County, they will face off against Trenton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Trenton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
