Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A District 14 this week, Island Coast beat Cypress Lake 64-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Island Coast took down the Panthers 64-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Quinn Bourque threw for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 70 yards during the win.
He went 12-31 with 1 interception.
Daniel Cobb was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 91 yards on 10 carries as Dunbar lost to Dunbar. Teammate Marquise Bryant added to the ground attack by rushing for 74 yards.
Cape Coral's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Seahawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Dylan Bontrager has thrown for 1,581 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while C.j. Lewis has 25 catches for 438 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Island Coast takes on second place Dunbar. Last week, Joe Bowen's team defeated Cypress Lake, while the Tigers bested the Seahawks.
The Gators' offense has recorded 315 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Dunbar has permitted only 85 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Island Coast takes on Phil Vogt's team. The Gators have allowed 94 points this season, while the Tigers have given up 85. Island Coast allowed 6 points last week as it bested Dale More's team.
Dunbar made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,438 from 2,906. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 24-9 victory over Cape Coral last week.
