The Jones Fightin' Tigers and the Homestead Broncos squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Jones Fightin' Tigers had to settle for second. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. Jones' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Joshua Townsend was his usual excellent self, throwing for 308 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.4 yards per attempt, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground for Homestead.
Jones' loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Homestead, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Homestead will square off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (St. Thomas Aquinas: 9.2, Homestead: 15.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
