The Central Catholic Raiders will head out on the road to take on the East Union Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Central Catholic has ten straight wins, East Union has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Central Catholic's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Tuesday, when they got past Oakdale's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Raiders blew past the Mustangs 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Stephanie Garcia looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jazmarie Roberts, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having also posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Samantha Nichols, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Central Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .424 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, East Union came up short against Manteca on Tuesday, falling 9-3.
East Union saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fallon Norman, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Central Catholic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for East Union, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Everything went Central Catholic's way against East Union in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Central Catholic made off with a 14-4 victory. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
