The Regis Rams put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They put the hurt on Willamina with a sharp 48-22 victory. Fans of Regis have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
When it comes to explaining why Willamina lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Hadley. Despite the final result, he rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Hadley is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Gustin, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Regis' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 7-1 Gervais and 6-2 Blanchet Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.5% over those games). As for Willamina, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Regis will take on Santiam at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Santiam comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Willamina, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sheridan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sheridan is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
