Basketball Game Preview: Grady Bronchos vs. Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue

After both having extra time off, the Grady Bronchos and the Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grady will be strutting in after a victory while Roy/Mosquero will be coming in after a loss.

Grady is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to To'hajiilee for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-22 win. With the Bronchos ahead 48-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grady to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zander Ciancio, who posted 23 points. That's the most points Ciancio has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Deakin Ragland, who earned 14 points.

Meanwhile, Roy/Mosquero didn't have quite enough to beat Fort Sumner/House last Saturday and fell 58-55. The Blue/Lady Blue were up 20-5 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Roy/Mosquero has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Grady, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything went Grady's way against Roy/Mosquero in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as Grady made off with a 62-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grady since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
