The Triton Hawks will head out on the road to take on the Pine Forest Trojans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Triton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 353 points over their last six matches.
On Tuesday, Triton was able to grind out a solid win over Western Harnett, taking the game 56-43. Triton pushed the score to 48-21 by the end of the third, a deficit Western Harnett cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Romello Pegues, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Javon Cowan, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pine Forest ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 56-52 W over E.E. Smith.
Triton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Pine Forest, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
Triton came out on top in a nail-biter against Pine Forest when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 60-57. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Pine Forest's Nehemiah Mcdonald, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Triton still be able to contain Mcdonald? There's only one way to find out.
