The Oostburg Flying Dutchmen will face off against the Plymouth Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Oostburg will be strutting in after a victory while Plymouth will be coming in after a loss.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Oostburg turned things around against Sheboygan Falls on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Flying Dutchmen considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Caden Helmer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Oostburg's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Helmer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Oostburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheboygan Falls only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, Plymouth unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Manitowoc Lincoln, falling 14-4.
Cole Kuhn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Plymouth's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Oostburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oostburg has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Plymouth struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Oostburg couldn't quite get it done against Plymouth when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Will the Flying Dutchmen have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
