The Chattahoochee Cougars have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 32-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Centennial on Friday. Chattahoochee has not had much luck with Centennial recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Chattahoochee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Esther Mahu. Despite the final result, she scored five points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Mahu hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games.
Centennial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tatiana Oquendo out in front who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Jasmine Perez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Chattahoochee's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Centennial, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chattahoochee will challenge North Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to square off against Cambridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
